“Trusted Elections Tour” to be hosted by New Hanover County Board of Elections
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. – The New Hanover County Board of Elections will host a stop on the North Carolina Network for Fair, Safe and Secure Elections’ Trusted Elections Tour at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at the New Hanover County Board of Elections (226 Government Center Drive).
The bipartisan town hall will provide the public an opportunity to learn more about North Carolina’s election process, ask questions and hear directly from local election officials and board members about election security and the safeguards in place to protect the voting process.
The 60-minute event will address topics including electronic voting equipment, artificial intelligence, the process for collecting and counting ballots, and the checks and balances used throughout the election process.
The New Hanover County event will feature panelists:
- Eric Navagh, New Hanover County Director of Elections
- Jamie Getty (R), New Hanover County Board of Elections Chair
- Derrick Miller (D), New Hanover County Board of Elections Member
The event is free and open to the public and members of the media.
The Trusted Elections Tour is part of an initiative by the North Carolina Network for Fair, Safe and Secure Elections, a bipartisan, grassroots effort focused on promoting confidence in the electoral process and encouraging civil political engagement.
